Price heat transfer vinyl shirts from what each one really uses: the blank, the vinyl in the design, cover sheets, packaging and your cutting, weeding and pressing time. The calculator works backward from your target margin, so the price still leaves your profit after Etsy or market fees.

What to count in an HTV shirt cost
- The blank shirt. The price per shirt, including your share of the shipping on your supply order.
- Vinyl used. Measure by the inches of the design, not the roll: the roll price divided by its square inches, times the square inches you cut.
- Weeding time. Detailed designs take longer to weed. Time it and include it in labor minutes.
- Cover sheets. Teflon sheets, parchment or transfer tape wear out. Count a small share per press.
- Packaging. Mailers, tissue, care cards.
- Washed-out or crooked prints. Spread the cost of ruined shirts across the good ones.
- Machine wear as overhead. Cutting machine blades and mats wear out. Spread their cost across what you make using the overhead field.

Questions sellers ask
How do I cost vinyl per shirt?
Divide the roll price by its total square inches, then multiply by the square inches the design uses plus a little for weeding waste.
Should multi-color designs cost more?
Yes, each layer adds vinyl and pressing time, so add the minutes to labor.
How do I price a bulk order?
Run the calculator with the time and materials per shirt at the bulk quantity, then decide on any discount by checking the profit line.
