This policy explains what PriceThisCraft (pricethiscraft.com, “we”, “us”) collects when you use the site, why, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it short and plain. If anything is unclear, ask us through the contact page.

Who we are

PriceThisCraft is a free pricing calculator and guides website for craft sellers, operated from the United States. You can reach us through the contact page.

Information we collect and why

The pricing calculator

Everything you type into the calculator stays in your browser. The math runs on your device, and your entries are never sent to our server. To save you retyping, your last entries are stored in your browser’s local storage on your device. Only you can see them. You can clear them at any time with the calculator’s Reset button or by clearing your browser’s site data.

The newsletter

If you join the newsletter, we store your email address, the page you signed up from and the date. We use it only to send you the newsletter, which is roughly one email a month with pricing tips, new guides and occasional product recommendations that may include affiliate links. You can ask to be removed at any time through the contact page, or with the unsubscribe link in any email we send.

The contact form

If you send a message, we store your name, email address, the subject you chose, your message and the date, and email a copy to ourselves so we can reply. Messages are deleted automatically after 12 months.

Spam protection

To stop automated spam, the newsletter and contact forms limit how many times they can be submitted from one connection in an hour. To do this we turn your IP address into a one-way scrambled code and keep only that code, for no more than an hour. Your IP address is not stored with your email or your message.

Analytics, only with your permission

If you accept the cookie notice, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful. Google Analytics uses cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) and collects information such as the pages you visit, how you arrived, your device and browser type, and your approximate location. We also record a few anonymous events, such as that the calculator was used or a newsletter form was submitted. We never send the numbers you type into the calculator. If you decline, Google Analytics does not load at all. Your choice is remembered in a cookie called ptc_consent for 180 days. Google’s use of this data is covered by Google’s privacy policy.

Buying the Craft Pricing Workbook

Payments are handled by Stripe through a secure Stripe checkout page. We never see or store your card details. Stripe shares with us the information needed to manage your order, such as your email address, what you bought and the amount paid. Stripe’s handling of your information is covered by Stripe’s privacy policy. The download page does not collect any information about you.

Advertising

Some pages show ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners, as third-party vendors, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google's advertising cookies let it and its partners show you ads based on those visits.

Affiliate links

Some links on the site are affiliate links, for example to Cricut through the Impact affiliate network, and to Amazon if we take part in the Amazon Associates program. When you click one, the retailer or network may set cookies on its own site to record that you came from us, so we can earn a commission if you buy. Those cookies are set by them, not us, and are covered by their privacy policies.

Server logs

Like nearly every website, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, browser types and the pages requested, to keep the site secure and running. These logs are not used to identify you.

Cookies we use

• ptc_consent: remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics. Kept for 180 days.
• Google Analytics cookies: only if you accept, as described above.
• WordPress login cookies: only for site administrators who sign in.

The calculator uses your browser’s local storage, not cookies, and only to remember your last entries.

How we share information

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site, such as our hosting provider, the email service we use to send the newsletter, Stripe for payments and Google for analytics if you accept, and only as needed for them to provide their service. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

• Newsletter details: until you ask to be removed.
• Contact messages: deleted automatically after 12 months.
• Spam protection codes: no more than an hour.
• Purchase records: kept by Stripe, and by us for as long as tax and accounting rules require.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, by writing to us through the contact page. Depending on where you live, for example in California or the European Economic Area, you may have additional rights under local law, and we will honor requests made under them. You can also decline analytics, clear your browser’s stored calculator entries, and unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time.

Children

PriceThisCraft is meant for adults who run a small business. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Security

We use HTTPS, keep the site’s software up to date, and limit who can see subscriber and message records. No website can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable steps to protect what we hold.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be noted on the site.
